取り技 

Grabs and holds

 

Katate-dori 片手取り (single-hand grab), one hand grabs one wrist.

Kosa-dori 交叉取り(cross-over grab),

aka Katate kosa-dori 片手交叉取り (cross-over single hand grab), 

aka Katate-dori 片手取り(single-hand grab). Left hand grabs left wrist, or, right hand grabs right wrist.

Aka Ushiro katate-dori 後ろ 片手取り(rear single-hand grab). Uke grabs the crossing hand and attacks to the rear.

Related to Ushiro tekubitori (後ろ手首取り(rear wrist grab).

Ryōte-mochi 両手 持ち (double-handed hold) aka Katate ryōte-mochi 片手 両手 持ち ("single hand, double-handed hold"),

aka Morote-dori 諸手取り(both-hands grab), aka Katate ryōte-dori 片手両手取り(single hand, double-handed grab). 

Two hands grab one hand.

Ryōte-dori 両手取り ("both hands grab"),

aka Ryōkatate-dori 両片手取り, ("double single-handed grab"). Both hands grab both hands.

Kata-dori 肩取り (shoulder grab),

Ryōkata-dori 両肩取り (both shoulders grab).

Eri-dori 襟取り(collar grab),

aka Mune-dori or Muna-dori 胸取り(chest grab) when grabbing the front side.

Sode-dori 袖取り (sleeve grab).

Kubi-shime 後ろ首絞め (chokehold).

Daki-jime 抱締め ("to hug someone close").

A bear hug, under or over one's arms. The rear version is simply aka Ushiro-dori 後取り ("rear hold").

Hagai-jime 羽交い締め

("binding arms behind the back").

1) pinioning arms behind the back, or

2) full nelson.
